Using a Vending Machine Mover

Clearances

If possible before using your vending system adjust the leveling legs to provide 1/2” to 3/4”: of clearance between the bottom of the vendor frame and the floor.

If there is at least 1/2” of clearance between the floor and frame, the air beams can usually be slid into place with ease.

If the air beams snag on the rear frame, angle them so a corner goes under first.

If there is less than 1/2” clearance, and the rear leveling legs can’t be reached, it may be necessary to put spacers under the frame as follows:

Adjust the front legs to provide as much clearance as possible under the front frame. You may need to open the vendor door to adjust the front legs.

Insert the air beams as far as possible. Connect hoses and turn on the blower. Vendor will tilt back.

Place a spacer under the frame on each side of the machine, just outside of the legs and as far back as possible.

Turn off the blower, and the vendor will settle onto the spacers. The rear frame should now be high enough to insert the air beams for normal operation.

Once the machine is moved out, adjust the rear legs to make future moves easier and when removing the air beams you won’t need to use the spacer method.

If there is more than 1” of clearance between the floor and frame, place spacers on top of the air beams. Adjusting the legs will solve the problem.

If one air beam can be placed under the machine but there isn’t enough clearance for the other, try connecting the blower to the one that is in position (without using the tee fitting). This can lift the one side providing enough clearance to insert the other air beam.

Caution: Lifting one side of the vendor will cause the top on the other side to move over about 3”. Do not use air beam as described above if there is a possibility of causing damage to an adjacent wall, machine or fixture.

Position: Side to Side

The SodaFloat® system generally works best when the air beams are positioned as far apart as possible but not pressing against leveling legs, which could settle on the fabric when the system is turned off.

If the vending machine tilts to one side because of the off-center balance, turn the blower off and slide the air beam that was higher toward the center. Try it in the new position and adjust again if necessary.

If side-to-side balance still can’t be obtained, it may be necessary to use two blowers.

If there is not enough room between the leveling legs to insert the air beams (as with some smaller vending machines) it may be necessary to use a smaller set of air beams.

Position: Front to Rear

The SodaFloat® system generally works best when the air beams are positioned with equal amounts extending from both the front and rear. Since vending machines come in different sizes and have different installation conditions this is not always possible.

When the back of the machine is flush against a wall, the air beams can’t be placed back far enough to extend out the rear. When moving the machine, it will tilt back toward the wall. To correct the tilt, turn the blower off after the machine is moved away from the wall and reposition the air beams. Before moving the machine back towards the wall, reposition the air beams not to extend out the rear.

If a machine is deeper than 30”, some tilting toward the rear may occur. See the section under Moving.
