Using a Vending Mover (Continued)

Hose Connections

The long 36” hose runs from the blower to the tee fitting, the two short 15” hoses from the tee fitting to the air beams.

Make sure connections are snug, but avoid jamming the hose ends too tightly into the air beam inlets.

Stretched or loose hose connections can usually be tightened by wrapping a little tape on the male fitting.

SodaFloat® air beams are equipped with special damper valves to reduce sudden deflation if a hose becomes disconnected.

Moving

Disconnect machine power cord, lines and hoses to avoid damage.

Always move the machine slowly and steadily and avoid build up of momentum.

If air beams are positioned so the load is evenly balanced, pull or push the load as needed.

The lower on the machine you push or pull, the easier the machine can be moved. If the machine is pushed near the top, it may tend to tilt back reducing ease of movement. This can be prevented by pushing lower on the machine.

When the machine is flush to the wall and the air beams cannot be placed evenly under the load, it might tilt slightly toward the rear. It can be moved forward by pulling at the top of the machine. It can be moved backward by pulling down on the top of the machine, while pushing back lower down on the front of the machine. In some cases to help balance the load, step on the front of the air beams with one foot.

A fully loaded machine flush against the wall will have too much weight on the back legs for balanced movement. Use the following procedure:

Open the vendor door to about 90º.

Position the air beam that is farthest from the hinge side closer to the hinge side that will help balance the offset of the open door.

Keep a firm grip on the door so it will not swing free and turn on the blower.

The door can be swung further open or closed to adjust side-to-side balance. Do not swing the door against the inlet of the air beams.

Holding both the door and the vendor body, push or pull the vendor as needed. Do not push or pull on breakable parts inside the machine.

Pushing the vendor back can be made easier by stepping and pushing with one foot on the front of the machine base.

Floor Surface Problems

The SodaFloat® system works best on smooth surfaces. Rough or porous surfaces, carpet or extremely dirty floors can reduce performance. A set of four plastic adapters is included with the system for use on problem floors.

After placing the air beams under the vendor with the blower off, slide a plastic adapter under each air beam.

Place the next adapter in front of the first adapter. The end of the next adapter should be tucked under the first adapter.

Turn on the blower and glide the vendor from one set of adapters to the next. If moving more than 3 feet, reuse the first two adapters to extend the non-porous track. Always overlap the adapters in the direction you are moving.

When passing from an uncarpeted to a carpeted area, simply make a track of plastic adapters using the end-to-end method.

The adapters can be used to cross door jams, closet tracks, floor joints and thresholds.

A roll of smooth plastic (10 mil polyethylene) can be laid down for longer moves. Sheets of newspaper will work if plastic is not available. Very rough surfaces like asphalt might require plywood or hardboard.
